About ImpactLoop 

Founded at the end of 2022, ImpactLoop is a UK-registered research and evaluation consultancy providing impact evaluations, applied research, and mixed-methods data analytics. We specialise in rigorous experimental and quasi-experimental evaluations, and advanced statistical analysis combined with participatory methods to understand what works and for whom across different

sectors, including migration, education, health, agriculture, food systems, and economic development.

ImpactLoop operates as a platform of freelance consultants. The company is led by a Management Team that is primarily women-led and responsible for strategic direction and delivery. We collaborate with a global network of Affiliate Consultants from over 25 countries who bring specialised thematic and regional expertise to projects worldwide.

Our clients include international development organisations, governments, NGOs, and other consulting firms.

Overview of the Position & Responsibilities

The Junior Associate in Business Operations and Development will be expected to support business development, company operations and projects, and help us increase the visibility of ImpactLoop, working flexibly where needs arise within a small and dynamic company. The Junior Associate in Business Operations and Development will be line-managed by the Managing Director, whilst also carrying out work on behalf of other team members. 

 

The following areas will be covered:

Business Operations (Approx. 2 hours per week)

  • Supporting the Managing Director on business operations, such as admin and finance-related tasks (e.g. supporting the calculation of cash flows, setting up internal documents, and contracts in line with existing templates).

 

Communications & Visibility (Approx. 2 hours per week)

Supporting the Managing Director on ImpactLoop’s visibility through

  • Social media communication (i.e. on LinkedIn)

  • Website updates (using WIX), such as adding new team members, project descriptions, and blog posts

  • Drafting email marketing campaigns

  • Content creation and reviewing (e.g. blog posts, presentations, and business development support material)

 

Business Development Support (Approx. 4 hours per week)

Support the head of Business Development by:

  • Screening and identifying suitable tenders on tender platforms, potential clients’ websites, and LinkedIn, entering them in our Business Opportunity Assessment Matrix, and if suitable, coordinating with the thematic area leads within the company

  • Support in creating LinkedIn postings for project-specific consultant requirements

  • Maintaining and updating the consultant database (internal and external)

  • Supporting proposal coordination and drafting non-technical sections of proposals

  • Supporting the preparation of proposal budgets by collecting consultant inputs and compiling figures in standardised budget templates.

  • Supporting the development and refinement of internal BD systems and processes

 

Network and Knowledge Management (Approx. 1 hour per week)

  • Support the Network and Knowledge Manager in coordinating bi-monthly network meetings, workshops, and knowledge sharing 

  • Support in keeping the network database up-to-date

  • Contribute to strengthening network engagement 

 

Project Backstopping (On demand only, approx. 4 hours per week)

  • Support the project manager by providing administrative support, planning meetings, and tracking that deadlines and timelines are met

  • Support financial project management by checking invoices, data collection plans against real expenses, and cash flows in line with our internal templates

  • Unlike the above tasks, time spent on project backstopping will only be required as new projects come in

 

Required Qualifications & Competencies​

 

Education & Experience:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in business administration, international development, communications, journalism, political science, or related fields

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience (experience in sustainable development/consulting strongly preferred)

 

Core Skills:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Strong organisational abilities with keen attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks with accuracy

  • Basic research and analytical skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace

  • Familiarity with website builders (e.g., Wix) is desirable

What we offer

  • Remote and flexible work, gaining insights into the operations of a young and dynamic company supporting sustainable development.

  • Part-time work for 1-3 days per week

  • Remuneration against timesheet based on GBP 15 per hour

  • The position will be offered as a flexible consultancy position. You will be required to pay your own income tax, depending on your country of residence.
